Jan. 10th 2011

In the last post I mentioned it would be a couple of days and they would be removing the balloon pump. Well the doctors saw fit that the pump and the swan-ganz catheter were removed today. He is free from most of his wires and tubes. He now only has an IV in for the fluid medicine and the PICC line.

After they removed the machines today, he had to lie flat for about 6 hours. The doctors came around and said that his vital signs look good, and tomorrow he can move around a little. And by a little they mean from his bed to a chair and back to the bed. Eric will not be complaining about this since the last 10 days he has been stuck in the bed.

They are hoping for this movement to help with moving the fluid and getting rid of more.

Please continue to pray for his recovery.

And for some entertainment (especially for Eric) I have linked this video. Enjoy!

P.S. Eric, don't try any of these moves just yet.

All our thanks,

Kimberly

  1. Kimberly, that video was hilarious! I hope you're keeping the stress down for yourself and your little one. This blog is a great idea. Thanks for letting us follow and keep up with your brother's progress.

Eric, Mike and I were saddened to hear about your condition! We are glad to hear that things are looking better for you. I agree with my dad, keep away from sports for a little while. :)
We're keeping you in our prayers.
